Peter leads Alitek’s Response Solutions practice. He has over 22 years of practical experience in information technology, cyber security, business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management in both government and the private sector. Peter works with Alitek’s clients to help develop programs that meet and exceed the myriad of regulatory requirements that challenge their IT, business continuity, security, records management and operating arms. Having developed a methodology that focuses on hardening the people and process side, his plans have been tested in both exercises and many real world crisis events. Peter earned his BA in Accounting and BS in MIS from the University of Houston. He has also been published in multiple magazines, newspapers and trade association magazines and has been a featured speaker and teacher.
Capt. Chris Schaffer, USCGR (retired)
Chris leads Alitek’s Incident Command response services, business continuity, security and regulatory practice. He provides leadership to the Guard Services and Executive Protection team. He also serves as Alitek’s representative on the Area Maritime Security Council (New Orleans) and the Canadian Standards Association board for Emergency Management. He has over 30 years of practical experience in facility and Maritime security, security vulnerability assessments, regulatory compliance, crisis management and business continuity in both government and private sector companies. He has served in senior management and as a senior consultant in Fortune 500 companies as well as for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, where he recently retired at the rank of Captain (0-6) in the Reserve. He has earned a variety of advanced degrees including: a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management from Florida State University, a Master’s Degree in Security Management from the University of Houston and is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval War College’s Command and Staff program. Captain Schaffer’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, two Coast Guard Commendation Medals with Operational Distinguishing Device, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals with Operational Distinguishing Device, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, the 9-11 Department of Transportation service ribbon and various other unit and service awards. He also is authorized to wear the permanent Advanced Boat Force Operations insignia.
